Hi Everyone
I'm join with SCA in Thailand and create some samurai armor before
tousando.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=armour&action=display&thread=2780&page=13
I read these and have idea for black plastic bucket to create armor and then my First haramaki occur......but my desire is not fullfill
So this month I Start new Project to create Whole Set of Domaru that are nice for display and also legal for SCA (except Kabuto b/c i cannnot do metal work at my place )
After three weeks many things as like these ;D
This is for the first day
Five days later.......
Compare with haramaki Do Now I 'm understand the process better
And have some technique to use heater gun to shape lamella to fit with the back
This time i'm learn that using black lace will be best choise for nylon cord b/c last time that I'm use Red Nylon. Someone like it but the other said the shade is too strong looks like toy.
My Dad never say anything about my hobbie but this time he said "look nice antique and valuable" wow
after wait for few days my order for cord is delayed but i cannot wait anymore.... and also not satisfy with the choice of color
Finally,I end up by purchase some cotton cord and dye it by myself (ok next time I will weave the cord by myself .....maybe ;D )
Great color it's it
This is for yesterday
My Sode and Kusazuri will lace with Kebiki Odoshi style
The lacing is not the main problem but drilling is very tough
In my calculation Sode and Kusasuri need to drill 60 holes per one lamella and all together 45 Piece 60*45 = 2700 holes
and i have only hand drill so i invest more to buy drill press b/c my hand will gone for sure without drill press ;D
but i have some problem in my mind at these point
-some cord will always fold in U Shape and always look too wrinkle
1.have any technic to avoid this problem?
2.I'm thinking about Iron the cord to be smooth before lacing but my friend said " Hey You are too serious about tiny problem"
3.Some talk about using silk but I'll pass...
-Sode and Kusazuri always need sinew at the back or not ? just curious. My First haramaki use sinew in most parts
