Title: Japanese Plays: Classic noh, Kyogen & Kabuki By: A.L. Sadler and Paul S. Atkins Cost to me: around $12 with shipping, totally worth it Period?: Heck yes! 13th century into Edo. Published: 2010 Size: Soft cover, 296 pages
If you are a fan of period Japanese drama this book is a MUST have! There are countless period performances broken down into an English script in here - as well as little historical references. These plays are a little odd to read, as they would do better as performances instead of a script, all the same they are insightful. The book is packed full of text, with very few visuals..what visuals there are...well lets just say they are period and exciting to look at.
It seems I am the reason we can't have nice things...
