Very cool!!! That turned out fantastic and you look VERY good!!
The only reason I put chopstics in my hair is when it gets too hot and my neck starts getting bad on the heat rash.

This Western misinterpretation of Edo period hair ornamentation is a perversion that needs to stop being perpetrated. There are these wonderful little elastic things called hair ties.....

Don't worry, Makiwara-hime. The chopsticks I use are a set of really cheesy ones I got from a takeout place. STurdy enough for hair sticks, yet not something I use for eating anymore. My good set of sticks are kept safe in their own little holder with my feast gear.

*smiles and batbats big round eyes at you* At least it kept my hair out of the way yesterday. I didn't have to do too much washing on it. Either way, your Kosode looks fantastic and one of these days, I look forward to meeting you in person.

Why, yes, I suppose I am smirking a bit. After all, I am THE hottest thing at the Tanabata feast. (No chopsticks in MY hair, thank you very much.) Holy moly.

Or if you want to be fancy, a nice kogai Repeat after me, boys and girls. "Crap, Edo!" Prior to 1600, respectable women get a paper tasuke. High hair does not become fashionable until later.

Exactly, and I was talking about just putting it up in general as in day to day without using chosticks, not putting your hair up during period events. I've known for quite a long time that pre-edo hair was tied back not up

Yes, but I don't plan on putting my hair up during events, hehe It'll be covered. The only time I may be putting it up is after a shower to cool off my neck. * Gods.. what I wouldn't give to just shave it all off and start over.. but, alas, hubby wouldn't appreciate the 'In Persona' hairdo*
