Hi So I was curious about making a heavy kit out of these plates for the sca. I have read the armor manual from www.sengokudaimyo.com/ and they said that the plates are made from his design. How ever the author of the manual stated that you might think of adding a 16 gauge backing or to rivet them together...So then my question is is it worth making Kozane from plastic?

I made my armor out of the plastic Effingham plates, and I can confirm that yes, you should back them with something. My armor is too flexible so I have to wear extra padding underneath. I've been meaning to try attaching a stiff backing to them but just haven't had the time or materials.

I have been looking at the zoombang max coverage line and I have heard a lot of good things about them. Maybe doing the zoombang as padding then doing a kosode and hakama over that then the Kozane might work out.

By the way Hiroyoshi-san do you have any pictures of your kozane that I could use as inspiration?
