That was the company that Hiraizumi-gimi usually pointed people to, so I'd have to say that it is probably good for what most of us need it for. If you want to do a fully authentic repro then you are going to look at shelling out a lot more for your materials, anyway.

that is the website for rice braid ,,, anyone have advise on this? I used Rice Braid for my armor. I think I may have used the spun polyester instead of textured polyester, but I can't remember for sure. It looks really good from a distance but doesn't look as good close up. It was also difficult to thread through the plates. So overall it wasn't bad but wasn't great.

I used 1/2" nylon rice braid in teal and white. Just used the white for hishinui. Still have about 20% or so of the teal left after doing all my armor, and most of the white. One tip is melt the leading edge into a sort of aiglet, like a shoe-lace tip. Makes the lacing much easier. I prefer the look of rice braid to shoelaces, which are the other frequently used option.

I used Shoe Lace for my armor, but if I could go back and do it again (and afford it) I would use Rice Braid instead. Hollow flat braid likes to twist way too much and doesn't lay quite right.
