Hello, my question is simple... How do i attach a traditional flat ring atadamai to a ronin gasa?

The ones I've seen were just sewn on. Nothing fancy.

The ones I've seen were just sewn on. Nothing fancy. We've had the best luck using a flat, narrow ribbon material for this. Flat so it fits between the skin of the gasa and the bamboo ribs, but wider than thread for strength.

So here are the solutions that we have in Japanese kasa: These first two are for a fabric atamadai. I wanted to show how loose this one was, probably due largely to the shape of this kasa (an ichime-gasa) and the type of the atamadai. You can see that it is loosely attached at a few points to the inner frame. The next two are sandō-gasa: As you can see, they are just tied onto the internal ribs. I'm not sure what Ishiyama-dono is suggesting, as regards a strip of fabric. -Ii
