Overpriced and doesn't look like anything suitable for pre-1600.

Arigatou gozaimasu, Makiwara-hime! I knew about Thai Silks and Silk Connection, but wanted to make sure we weren't overlooking some other supplier. Fujiwara Takaharu

Arigatou gozaimasu, Makiwara-hime! I knew about Thai Silks and Silk Connection, but wanted to make sure we weren't overlooking some other supplier. No problem, Fujiwara-dono. I admit that once I started playing with silk I got a bit spoiled, and Thai Silks and Dharma Trading are both relatively local. ;-> Besides, most modern cotton "kimono prints" don't really look like period textiles. There's no way to determine what the scale of the print is to the photo, but I suspect that the patterns are smaller rather than larger. At Fabric.com, when you click on an enlargement of a fabric, there's a ruler at the base of the photo, which is extremely useful if you want to see how big a pattern is or what the weave looks like. I've bought from them for some of my European stuff as they carry all kinds of fabrics and they're excellent to deal with. They also carry "workhorse" fabrics for your armoring, field wear and camp projects such as canvas, muslin, cotton duck, etc. They run lots of good sales, so it's worth getting on their e-mailing list. They've even sent me "We Miss You" coupons if they haven't gotten an order from me in awhile. I have not used Denver Fabric, but I've heard good reports about them from friends. I think you can even request swatches. www.denverfabrics.com/Hey, they've got habotai in colors for about $6..... Not that I need to buy any fabric just now. M.
