I briefly met Peter at Estrella and was hoping he would post this himself ... I design and build custom medieval and period armor for fighters in the SCA. After a twelve year hiatus*, I am reopening the armory with new designs and manufacturing techniques. With over 10 years of armoring experience and suits still in use on the field, I am pleased to announce that I can now provide ... * hidden suits which allow you to wear period fighting clothing on the field * fully assembled suits as well as kits for the budget conscious * armor stands and boxes for transporting, storing and displaying your armor I do all the work myself and focus on delighting my clients with durable, lightweight armor designed to reflect period styles, look and feel. I saw the stuff he had on display. Looked decent to my inexpert eye. There was a black suit with green odoshi that I thought was quite spiff.

Looks like the black and green suit is his. Nice to see some halfway decent plastic. Is that paracord, though? Someone get this man the number for lacesforless!

Actually that isn't paracord, it is about 3/8 inch nylon lacing that he got a St. Louis braid www.stlouisbraid.com/. It looks alot better close up. By the way, my friend Reoga purchased that red armor and he loves it.

Greetings;
This is Peter Cadarn of Evolution Works. I'm not a proficient computer operator so bear with me here. First, I'm amazed at the knowledge and information that is on this board. Whoa, when my partner and I started doing this the first time around in 88, we were inspired by one suit of pickle barrel Japanese armor at Pennsic and that was the only suit of Japanese armor at Pennsic. Within a couple of years we were the only armorers making abs and kydex Japanese. We were lucky, during our 6 years in the USMC ,(80 to 86)they sent us to Japan twice for six month deployments. So we took lots of pictures.
We hung it up in 94, and yet some of our suits from back then are still out there, two were at Estrella.
So I'm back because I love to create, and then fight, in armor. especially Japanese. I will be developing more styles of Japanese armors, always trying to strike a balance between authenticity, SCA durabilty and ease of maintenance.
I will be developing close fitting under garb armors, lamellar styles suitable from Persian sassanid to Mongol to Mameluke and if I figure out a good vacuform setup, munitions European. Namban armor anyone?
And everything I can possibly do will end up in kit form.
Thank you for the warm reception and now I must go work on my next personal armor, Osprey elite series "The Samurai", plate G, #1 in green laceing with a black vertical stripe.

Peter from Evolution works here. I will be merchanting at May Potrero War, possibly Sept. Potrero and Great Western for sure.
At May Potrero I will be showing the kits for both the "ashigaru" and "samurai" armors. They will be comprehensive kits, all you do is paint and lace. These kits will come pre made to your size, they are not one size fits all.
I will hopefully have an assembled sendai-do to show, kit soon to follow.
Full kebiki style laced do is in the works(my new armor to go with the new Darkheart kabuto, ooh....aah....... oh......) And after I shake the bugs out, it too will be offered in kit form.
The haidate will also be offered in kit form.
I am here to build the armors you want. Please, write and tell me what you want to see.
Peter.

Please note that I will not be merchanting at Potrero. For the time being, the Internet will be the only showing of Evolution Works. Armors and kits will be added to the website but for now, until I can ascertain wether there is enough interest to even warrant continuing Evolution Works or not, the website will be it.

To bad, I was wanting to see your new stuff at Potrero. Not that I could afford to buy anything, but it is always nice to see stuff.

Just wandering around aimlessly and noticed that he has a pretty nice looking set of Sendai Do available. Apparently he'll be at this upcoming Potrero and GWW. I'll definitely be at one of them so I'll get to check it out first hand.

Apart from the rectangular kusazuri (they don't hang in the form of a trapezoid, or don't appear to in that photo), that is some SPIFFY plastic armour!

True true, rectangular kusazuri are not common but I kinda modelled this one after Togukawa's gold tosei gusoku. And thank you very much for the compliment. Please note that they all come as kits now too.
See you at Potrero, most likely Great Western and Estrella
