Greetings to all, due to my having finally settling down in late 14th century Germany; I feel it is time to let some of my first persona go. The blades were projects that I cant find extra time to finish, and are sold as is. It will be for the buyer to polish and mount these blades.
So, I am offering up for sale or trade the following items.
First is your standard pair of hakama, for the non Japanese, these are the big "pants" that one would wear with kimono. This pair fits me a little short by an inch or so. I am 6 foot and 195, waist fits OK. They are cotton/poly perfect for the campground environment. Good condition. $45.
Next we have a 20.5 inch ATS 34 (Japanese grade of Stainless) wakizashi, or short sword. This has a rough satin polish, no temper line real or otherwise. A better hand polishing would do wonders. It is pictured with a silver habaki that was cast to fit the blade, an excellent fit. For those that are brave, you would have to make a handle, and saya (scabbard) for this one. This was made by the late Bob Engath, of Blades and Stuff, takes a wiked edge, great for slicing at the dinner table.
$60.00
Lastly, once again a Bob Engath, ground and tempered blade. This is a Kamuri Otoshi, yakiba edge, meaning that it will show a tempering line (hamon) after polishig and etching. Made from W2 will rust as you watch it, just like the real thing. The first pic is a very minor polish no etching to try and show the hamon. I think that this will be cho-sugaha, "medium straight" The length overall is 15.5 in, with 11 being the blade. 1 1/8 wide, and roughly 1/4 thick. A thick point for slashing, this will be a beautiful tanto. I will include the instructions on how to really make this baby shine. I humbly ask 100.00.
I will be happy to take trade for any of these items, cash and paypal are welcome as well. Buyer will need to contact me so we can set up shipping. I can do international via DHL.
As to trades, I could always use an extra helm, or maybe some kindly used legs, or a really big planishing stake, let me know whatcha got.
thank you for looking
