Damn...Now I want Stone Ground mustards and Brats...und wienerschnitzel...und kartoffel zalad...und schnitzel!!!! Und Liebfraumilch...Und Bechs extra heavy dark needs-a-bandsaw-to-serve-a-slice!!! Err err err...I love German food! Date Oh... if you ever want to come down and spend a day down in Colonial Williamsburg or Jamestown, we can end it with a night at Das Waldkafe (sp?). We can help satisfy those cravings.... hmmm, I wonder if I have ingredients for spatzle around here somewhere.... -Ii

Oh, BTW, the first meal I cooked and ate in my new apartment was (drumroll) Bratwurst! With corn on the cob and potato salad. ;->

Yeah ... but did your mom make it? Asks the guy just back from a quick trip to WV to visit his German mom.
Man, US50 is gorgeous in WV. I hope I get to see it during fall some day.

Well, no. It was Johnsonville brats from the supermarket.
Lucky. My dad's German, but his mother was an appalling cook. The things my grandmother could do to a beautiful piece of kosher beef would make you weep.
My mom (Irish), however, is a rockin' good cook.
I'm hungry. I just looked at my watch and realized why....
