Cool. More Japanese practice:

Mizu-hajiki no kiroku attemo ibutsu ga nai ga touzen mizudeppou keishiki de arou.
"Although we have records of water guns, there are no [extant] artifacts, but it seems natural that they would take the shape of 'water pistols' (water teppo)."
More projects for the bamboo still drying in the laundry room....

Noble Cousins!
Greetings from Solveig! Before people get two excited with the idea of sleeping out in the rain, I should point out that most cases of hypothermia occur at about 55 deg F. Quite appart from that, MacArthur's Army froze to death on its great retreat, because the soldiers were so tired that they went to sleep without first changing into dry clothes. It is important to stay dry when the weather starts getting cool to cold. A bit less major than freezing to death (and yes there were cases of that) was frostbitten extremities which was a constant risk. The father of a friend of mine served under MacArthur twice. Once in the Philipines and once in Korea. (Incidentally, he hates all officers and very especially hates MacArthur.) He was a sergeant and had to make sure each day that his soldier's feet did not freeze.
