Reviving old threads is a local pastime Speaking of which, instead of opening a new thread... Looking to find out more about japanese horse tack... Effingham mentioned it evolved thorugh period, but pretty much all I can find pics of is a "standard" Anyone have pics of various kinds, and the relivant dates for them? (Heian, Kamakura, Nara, etc) Also, in looking at haniwa, many of the horses that have tack, the stirrups look to be of the standard euro-asian flat bottom ring... When did the platform ebumi stirrup evolve? how long was the ring stirrup in use, when was it no longer existant in use? Thanks, -Takeda PS. Here is the reason for asking, my wife's new horse, Kushi
