If this is in the wrong area, my apologies, but I have a request from my Honorable Mother, Ishikame Kikkyou.
She is making me a Kote for my archery garb and would love to see some pictures of them so she has a reference to what it's supposed to look like.
I'm going to be doing target ARchery, so I think she would like pictures of it without armor sewn in. However, armor is good.
If you like, you can post them here or send them to her in an E-Mail... *posted with permission*

Tomodachi, Go here: www.sengokudaimyo.com/katchu/katchu.ch11.htmlThere are links(within the page along the right side)to the fabric portion of the Kote. It's, by far, the best source of info for making them. IMHO ;D Date Rokurou Yoshimitsu

Domo, Date Rokurou Yoshimitsu. I have been to that place. Trust me, it is one of my favorite places to do my research. However, I think that Ishikame-Hime would like pictures of people wearing it and color photos of the Kote itself so that she can get the idea of what it looks like with her own eyes.

Ok - so I have been working on fixing some of the content of my art pages - and to the profile page linked at the bottom of my pages. Getting ready to add the linked content for the digital media section, tho the splash page is there. Still a ways to go, but looking better...You may have to hit the "refresh" button, but I have reworked a fistfull of html today. I will keep working into the night Da-html-te

Many thanks to those who contributed pics. Now I must get back to the sewing, so that Yamaniko can have her Kote, post haste. Then I must begin my costume for my Japanese personna.

It's gonna be offtopic but, "life is"
I've come across pics of kote-like things from only fabric, but UNDER the sleeve (my sources can very well be inaccurat, though). Now, if igote refers only to those used with archery, they obviously were always over anything else...
so, is there a period garment, something like detechable sleeve? Were such things worn for protection if travelling/not-being-in-the-heart-of-civilization? If so, I suppose I could make one by simply modifying slightly Effingham dono's kote pattern/s.
