Behind the Great Wall on Discovery Channel right now. 7PM Mountain, 1/27 20000 men. 80 teams (?) of 250 men. Each team builds a tower every 5 days. -> 5760 towers in one year. But I thought I heard the plan was for 3000 towers. (and only 1200 towers were built initially. maybe more than one team per tower?) Qi Jiguang (November 12, 1528 – January 5, 1588) was a Chinese military general and national hero during the Ming Dynasty. He was best remembered for his courage and leadership in the fight against Japanese pirates along the east coast of China, as well as his reinforcement work on the Great Wall of China.en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Qi_JiguangCannons on the Wall were based on 'Western' models. European or Islamic? Noted a bit on Machines of the East on History Channel yesterday that stated modern cannon may have been invented in N. Africa.
