Heard this on NPR last night. An archeological dig near the Yellow River uncovered some preserved noodles carbon dated to 4000 years ago. This is significant since the earliest previous record of noodles was a written record only about 2000 years old. The noodles are made from two kinds of millet and a similar noodle still exists in the region and is known as "iron wire" noodles.
