Did the japanese use war horns? I know they used many styles of signals but actual sound communication?

Did the japanese use war horns? I know they used many styles of signals but actual sound communication? The Japanese (samurai) were supposed to have used these conch shell trumpets or horagai for signaling.

Noble Cousin! Greetings from Solveig! Thank you for finding these. Did it play a whole series of clips for you as well? Regardless, the various clips appear to be of shugendo rituals. If I'm not mistaken, the narrator for one of the clips specifically mentioned this. You will notice the distinctive yamabushi costume worn by a number of the people in these clips.

Caught "Kumonosu-jo" ("Throne of Blood") down in Stanford. While one doesn't see anyone playing them, the sound of multiple horagai can be heard on the soundtrack as news comes into the great lord's battle headquarters in the opening scene.

I have seen references to the shell horns in at least 2 books, so I'm pretty sure they were used. There were also drums used and the occasional whistling arrow.
