What are you wearing on your feet? For some reason, your tabi looks to have three toes.

It looks to me like he's in jika tabi and a blade of grass next to his toe is creating that illusion.

Am I bad person if my first thought was, "Ah, he looks very comfortable"? (;

The tabi are leather tabi from Ayyawear, they are not period...but they are oh so comfortable, and they have the traditional tabi arrangement of the big toe seperated from the other 4.
The entire outfit is rather comfortable.
My wife made the eboshi out of basic black and white cotton fabric, the hakama are also cotton I beleive (I bought them at Pennsic about 10 years ago from a vendor who I only saw there the one year) The kosode is a heavier weight cotton with a rougher texture, but very breathable purchased from Tigger's Togs at Pennsic. The haori is a vintage silk piece, very lightweight (you can see right through it if you hold it up by itself)
The parts you cant see in the picture would be the tabi socks, which are CoolMax tabi from Cool East Market, and the fundoshi which my wife made of some cheap material (muslin maybe, been years since she made them)

Nice suit! And I've read enough of the archives that I can name the parts I can see now. Good job.
