I just fought my first night with a 6 foot pole arm. I never had such a fun time fighting as I did tonight! Now I know what everyone who fights polearm is talking about! I love how you can fight up close or really far away. Amazing. I did very well taking one of the local squires (fighting s/sh) 9 of 10 fights. Fought ten sets with a greatsword expert (a kinght) and won 3 of ten. 20+ years of martial arts training paid off in a big way - it never seemed to do me a lot of good with sword and shield.
The knight coached me on a lot of moves vs. s/sh and I was thinking of video taping them all and posting them online.
Would anyone be interested in viewing if I did such a thing?

Unfortunately I wasn't wearing my Nihonji kit as it is not finished. But I noticed that the places I got hit was places where the Japanese put a LOT of armor - like the hips and shoulders... hmm... seems like they may have known something about fighting with great weapons...

Post vids! Post! Post! It's no wonder that the sword was a secondary weapon on the battle field.
