Are there any obvious things I should be bringing past clothes, something to show off, and something nice-looking to drink out of? Am I likely to want a full feast kit? I've never been to a Twelfth Night before and am not sure what I actually need to bring.

The hotel is offering a lunch buffet of some sort, so you shouldn't need feastware unless you really want to re-plate your meal.

Latest from the event autocrat: "Greeting populace of the West. Here are a few announcements/changes: Saturday - Gate opens at 8AM. The Feast Hall opens at 8AM. The hotel will have a kiosk to sell lunch and dinner tickets. Note that this is a dry site - alcohol must be purchased from the Hotel. If we see any open bottles, we will ask you to remove them. Otherwise, the hotel can lose their liquor license, and may not allow us back. Please be hospitable in the feast hall. If you see someone that needs a seat for awhile or to eat, please share unused seats. If we receive noise complaints, you get two warnings from the SCA staff before the hotel becomes involved which may include mundane authorites. Note that the lobby & feast hall are open all night if you must carry on at all hours! (don't forget to remove your personal items from the feast hall) Lastly, we expect everyone to have a great time! www.inthewest.org/wiki/2012_Twelfth_Night_Coronation"

Twelfth Night attendees. If you plan to be around Friday evening and want to do dinner together, please message me with your ETA so I can get a head count and see about making dinner reservations for 6 PM at one of the eateries near the hotel. There's a Benihana (obvious choice), Claim Jumper (steak house) and Elephant Bar (little bit of everything), within walking distance. The hotel has an Italian trattoria style restaurant, but I would not be surprised if they're easily overwhelmed.

Oki, for all of you attending who don't have an early Sunday flight or drive to get home...
Kevin and I are planning (because the hotel is conveniently located) a run to St. George Distilling on Alameda around check-out time. No, it's not Japanese, but it is one of the pioneers of American craft distilling, and their tea liqueurs are dvivine.

It's more or less on the way to Oakland Airport, for those unsure of the geography. Another option is Takara Sake, located off I-80 in Berkeley.

Well, we need to go to St. George to pick up bottles for our drink-mixing robot.

Home safe, exhausted and more or less ready to get some much needed sleep on my own futon.
A thousand thank yous to everyone who helped make my Twelfth Night so special.

I am now also home safe, although my luggage won't be here until tomorrow.
Thank you for giving us all a fantastic reason to collect in one place. I had a fantastic time, and I look forward to someone giving us another reason as good as this one!
