11/8/11
Enjoying with friends A healthful repast and a A bottle of wine What stories might we then tell Here within the bamboo grove?

I followed the moon Down quiet streets guarded by Shadow-leafed trees. I fished for my key ring and Bade her a silent good night.

midafternoon sun across the strawberry patch a few buds linger near the last of this year's fruit I retreat with gratitude

11/9/11
I sit waiting for Some inspiration beneath A skylight gone dark. There is no romance in a grocery cart, or laundry.

11/9/11
A river of lights Meandering here and there A transient flow Marking for me the way home In this angelic city.

11/10/11 Oars slice through water The color of sunrise as I watch from the bridge. Then it is my turn to strive Against the traffic's current.

Surrounded by books, I delight in the world of Words and ideas. The more I read, though, the more I find I have more questions.

Only for one day Must I sit and wait alone Under the pine trees Yet it is eternity Here, within this dew drop world.

11/11/11
No need to crawl out Exiting the mouse palace With full dignity; We find that what can be is, And what is can be better.
Also...
Sentinels once stood Manning the old signal fires, Now long forgotten; Today there are new watch fires And those who still keep them lit.
Thank you.

Laughter fills the hall Feet pounding on the floorboards Amidst flowing wine The crane dances 'neath the pines In the gently blowing breeze.
Happy birthday to my grandfather, who turned 90 today!

From summer's embrace We slide back to autumn's chill and winter's herald; Now prepare the storehouses And pull out your lined garments.

Preparing for sleep I heard their whispers above Against the canvas. There's something peaceful About soft rain on a tent. (11/12/11) (Written Saturday morning after night in said tent.)
There you are again Guarding my path homeward And shining through blinds. Wide awake, the moon and I Keep each other company (11/13/11)

Words flow like water Tripping, trickling sentences Falling from the tongue; Until this lexical stream Meets an imovable dam.

11/14/11 An audible huff Precedes the smell of Year old dust burning. The true harbinger of fall Is the heater coming on.

11/15/11
I am the shime, The racing pulse as thunder Builds behind my back. An earthquake roars through my ears While sticks gallop in my hands.
(Shime-daiko is SO much fun!)
