Title: Sculpture in Silk (Sculpture in Silk: costumes from Japan's Noh Theater) Pages: 88 , full color glossy Price: I paid roughly $9 for this used book, it was a steal and totally worth it Buy it: www.amazon.com/Sculpture-Silk-costumes-Japans-Theater/dp/0974207209/ref=pd_2Review: When reading about Noh keep in mind the art form itself is largely unchanged over several hundred years, and has many historical samples of period garb. That modern troopes take great pains to preserve the original historic forms. This book is packed full of stunning kosode for theater use, including many edo works of the patchwork style. The colorful works displayed within this book are featured on full glossy pages in true color making for great eye candy. This book also features something unique I have not seen in any of my other theater books...a photo series that is a step by step dressing of a Noh actor. I really like this book, and value it largely for its amazing selection of costumes worn in theater.
