I would like to bring to the attention of members of this listserv an upcoming exhibit at the National Geographic Museum in Washington, D.C., “Samurai: The Warrior Transformed.” It runs from March 7-September 3, 2012 and is one of many events planned as part of the National Cherry Blossom Festival, which is celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Japanese gift of cherry trees to the U.S.
Dr. Hilary Snow (Adjunct Lecturer at MICA and Johns Hopkins University) served as consultant on the exhibit and Dr. Constantine Vaporis (Professor of History and Asian Studies Program Director at UMBC) served as a consultant-writer.
