I finally got a chance to put everything to use! I was at the Texas Renaissance Festival just outside of Houston. I got a few compliments, but sadly I don't think most people knew what I was supposed to be, haha. Also, I found that the kusazuri clanged around endlessly and ruined the finish. But I suppose that is supposed to happen to some degree?

Yes, the finishing does get banged up a little bit. This is why armor makers liked to line the body-facing section of the kusazuri with deerhide to make them more durable and to some degree, less noisy. Although, this option was for those who could afford it.
