Can you really smell smoke from the distant salt fires upon the night wind? Soon you may go look for me out beside the pine tree grove.

So bright a spring moon Makes one yearn for poetry And dreams of what was. Alas, I must watch alone As the rooftops gleam silver.

To home and to hearth. Let us chase the sun's path West, and by evening lay our heads upon our pillows in our own waiting bedrooms.

A fleet of cloud-ships Upon a heavenly sea Silently drift by Do you heed your own purpose, Or merely follow the wind?

Tonight the moon plays Hide and Seek among billows Of concealing clouds. Now hidden, now peeping through At its face deep in the bay.

White blades and white lights the former spins along, while the latter brightens. Moving the air about, I must say: I am a huge fan.

Together again with you my love I slumber in our marriage bed. How cold, the nights without you. How warm, the nights in your arms.

How long the muse lay silent within me, my pen motionless on the paper. How short a month of writing when so much is left to say.

Measured in gray hairs Or a clock's tick, time never Stops playing its tricks. Like water cupped in the hand The day dripped through my fingers.

Long after the cries of the morning birds faded the house awakens. So much promise in the day what shall we do with this gift?

Outside my window the dogwood tree blooms gaily. Clouds may hide the sun, but Spring cannot be hidden if the world shines with such light.

Outside it may be Spring, but work awaits me in basement, sewing room, workshop, attic, and office, responsibilities all.

Tiny white flowers In the grass beneath my feet Spring up like small stars. A breath of sea breeze floats in Off the beach beyond the trees.

The cave is empty and darkness has fled the land; Bright and shining light. Where shall we go, what to do, Following the road ahead?

Awake before the dawn, I walk through a quiet house. Outside the birds sing, harbingers of coming day. The work week begins anew.
