Ok thers a few places out there that show a person how to lace Kozane. However, all of the ones I have seen only show an image of finished lacing with arrows and numbers. This is a grate source of what it should look like finished and is vague on how to start. Is there anything out there that shows a step-by-step on how to do the lacing. Like chain mail I have seen that start with one ring and show you how to do it ring by ring.

Do you need how to put the individual plates together or the lacing to put the finished Lames together? If you just need the Lames I can probably do up something tomorrow for you.

The the lacing of the individual scales are pretty straight forward, I don't have individual scales in my shop so it would be hard for me to do anything like that, but after work I can punch a few holes in some leather strips and do the lame to lame lacing and try to put it on video or something. It's actually something I've thought about a few times because I know there wasn't much for me to go on when I started besides Effingham Sensei's site and a few posts here and there on this board.

I may not get to this until this weekend, all of a sudden my work load has jumped up. I promise I'll get it done by then. Effingham-sensei your efforts are so important to our community it is truly astounding and your diagrams helped me learn how to lace, as amateurish as I am compared to others on this site. Some people need to see it, though, just like the gentleman who I just taught (over and over and over) he needed to see someone do it for it to make sense, thus I'm hoping making a video will help those who need it.

Hm. Videos. Hmmmm..... Evil ideas forming. Mwa ha ha! To bad you are all the way across the country, this is something I would love to team up with you on. By the way a friend loaned me some of his "Effingham Plates" for me to make the video with so I can show the entire lacing process.

I promise that this is still on my table of stuff to do, real life has just kept getting in the way. My intent is to get it filmed this evening and edited and posted by this weekend. The wife is in her third month of pregnancy and she just has been dropping a lot of stuff on me like interviewing Midwives and what not that has been taking up my free time but promised me I could have this weekend after we finalize my daughters 4th birthday party plans (which we should do tonight).
Sorry this is taking so long, I truly am excited about this project and will probably keep making "How To" videos after this one.

Did a test run to make sure that my camera picked up everything but it decided to go to a wonky focus which hid the details, plus when I say the Japanese names for armor pieces I so miss pronounce things that I think when I re shoot it tomorrow I'll try to use the English names a little more (seriously it sounds like down home southern trying to be a samurai).

Kon-nitchi-wa, y'all! (I used to speak in Japanese putting on an exaggerated southern or "British" accent for the amusement of friends at the bar I lived at in Tokyo.)

So, yeah, YouTube says that my first video is going to take 360 minutes to upload. I don't think I will be sharing the URL until tomorrow. :/
