Title says it all. I'd like to make a nagamaki and maybe a yari. Or thinking about nagamaki and cutting the other in half, and making a tetsubo and a one handed katana for when I'm forced to fit sword and board. Of course I'm still confused about the legality of nagamaki in the east kingdom. That may end up being a naginata.

Pretty much decided on a nagamaki and a yari. Anybody got tips for pretti-fying a rattan yari?

You can stain the rattan, it looks pretty cool when you do.

I ended up just toasting the rattan with a blow torch, which I'd seen on the Archive, seemed less messy. I'll get a pick of the yari up soon. Until then here's one of the finished nagamaki, as well as the rest of my rig. As you can see, we take pre-bedtime monster eradication seriously in our house.

As you can see, we take pre-bedtime monster eradication seriously in our house. Monster eradication is most important. Looking good!

The kit looks great! Also I used a nagamaki for a few years in the Middle with no problems. .
