08-07 10:00am Eboshi Hats and Tabi Shoes @ishiyama First class in the Pennsic University Schedule that hit me as "do not miss". (Not including the Empire of the Sun Battle, as I don't see it as a class, even if it is in the schedule, and I do anticipate being schooled.) Looking forward to it, Ishiyama-dono. I will wear one of my humble backwoods bushi eboshi, and would be honored by your honest critique. If I can steal a couple hours away from the wall of pre-Pennsic/Wedding projects, I hope to try a simple faux-"lacquered" eboshi, using this stuff: Golden Artist Colors GAC 400.

Thank you for reminding me that I need to put this class and its handouts together. Please let me know how your experiment goes! Also, if any of you bring your Android smartphone to Pennsic, the application "Giggity" can directly access the iCalendar version of the schedule.

Ishiyama-Dono,
Sincere apologies for missing this class. My good fortune Thursday night of walking past Casa Bardicci when the Baron briefly declared the gates open to all comers turned to misfortune Friday morning, as the free Laphroig Quarter Cask and blueberry mead from the night before caused me to sleep right through this class.
Also deep and heartfelt thanks for posting the handouts on the SCA-JML list.

Heh. Sorry I didn't get to see you, but I've certainly had similar Pennsic experiences trying to make it to a morning class. My pleasure. I guess I should also post the links here. www.ee0r.com/sca/wafuku/tabi.pdfwww.ee0r.com/sca/wafuku/eboshi.pdfAlso, the bibliography:

Regarding the band of the eboshi.
You write: a rectangle, 4 feet by 7 inches. Fold the band in half (= 3,5 inch) and fold the seam allowance in (0,5 inch). That would make the band 3 inches wide. Isn't that extremely wide?
