As a re-enactor, it's about time I got a yoroi. My period is late Sengoku Jidai, Azuchi–Momoyama to be precise. Well, according to what I've read, if your weight tends to fluctuate, you probably should chose a ryō awase dō/roku mai dō - yokohagi okegawa dō. Now, for aesthetic purposes, I'd like a white yoroi with black lace and red accents. Did that exist in those days? Does anyone have pictures of an armour like that? Preferably in white, but any pictures would do. Thanks a lot! (Oh, and before anyone remarks: I know my attire on that picture is not Sengoku Jidai, but Edo jidai. Can't help it, it's been the only garb available at the time )

Kennin, Short answer for that color scheme no. Stormtrooper samurai armour in period didn't exist. There is to my vast but imperfect knowledge *1* white armour extant. It is at *least* 150 years post period. OTH, black with white lacing and red accents is entirely doable.

I've yet to see a white Yoroi...only black, red, russet and some golden.
Can't help with photos at the moment though, sorry.
Mykaru: Not just doable, but by the sound of it, very cool looking ^^

First off, I'm going to go with Mykaru on the black with white lacing and red accents.
That said, I seem to recall there was a silver or polished steel nanban gusoku, but that doesn't fit with the look you're going for. I believe we may also have kebiki-odoshi armors with white (or mostly white) lacing, where the base is still black lacquer but it is hardly visible through the thick lacing. Otherwise, as stated, black, red, russet, generally speaking.
The other option for white would be a nunotsutsumi, where you cover the armor in silk (or another fabric, given the abuse it will take). I've typically seen that treatment for domaru, haramaki, and haraate. I'm not sure how late that practice continued, off the top of my head.

Thanks for the info!
Black with white lacing and red accents it is, then!
Now I only need a good picture of this type of armour.

I agree with Ii about the white lacing, here's an example for this style:

Well... I somehow lost sight of this thread because of a too busy life. My appologies!
So my weight tends to fluctuate quite a bit. Is it correct that it would make sense to chose a ryō awase dō/roku mai dō - yokohagi okegawa dō? My era is Azuchi–Momoyama.
