Length of lacing between the Do and Kasazuri

I've read the info on the sites and looked at all the picture I can find. But,would it be too out there to shorten the gap between the Do and Kasazuri. to 1-2 inches? Not traditional,but I don't like the gap in the armor.

Shorten away. You have to be happy with your armor if you are going to wear it all the time.

What are you using the armour for? I've never seen the lacing that short. Granted that isn't saying much! But if historical suits were 4+ inches consistently then there was likely a good reason for it.

Just restarting playing with the SCA. And I Have a Bad hip. Thinking just of adding a panel into the sash or under the Hakama, instead.
