I went searching YouTube recently in the hopes of finding things that would help me with my exploration of fighting rapier with a katana. If you input "SCA katana" you get one video with bad camera work and sound (including a cry of "Ooh puppy" and a jolting to a car in the parking lot). If you search "katana vs. rapier" there's a British HEMA school with one guy who fights katana against rapier, saber, etc., but I'm not really gleaning anything helpful from it. I did, however, find uploads by Kouga Sekido which include clips of iaido, kenjutsu and even some naginata work. Instruction is in Japanese, but it's fairly easy to follow because the instructor* is very good about making physical, visual corrections of form and position on his students, moves may be replayed in slow motion, etc. (*Instructor is Seki Sekido of or if that's the name of the person shooting the videos.) Anyway, I can see pretty clearly what's being drilled and I think it's a potentially useful resource. Yes, I'm also jazzed about the fact that highly proficient women are regularly featured in these videos. Also includes some really beautiful performance clips accompanied by music. www.youtube.com/user/yayoims/featuredI found the school's English page Isokai Tokyo Japan : www.mugairyu.jp/english/about_us/index.htmlYou can also run their Japanese pages through Google Translate.
