Note that there are vast differences between jodo/jojutsu and the jo as used by various other arts, where it is often used more as an extension of that art. I understand that Aiki-jo is based in the main on yari, perhaps to illustrate the linear and sweeping motions of Aiki, while Aiki-ken is used to illustrate defense against swung weapons.
Such are quite different from the Shindo Muso Ryu Jo of the Kuroda-han as developed by Muso Gonnosuke, who used it to defeat Musashi.

Robert Corella, my iai sensei, has a couple of kenbu video clips on his web site. www.kenshindojo.org/Kenbu.html {scroll to bottom} Toyoda sensei is the one on the right. He is utilizing yari. Sasayama sensei is on the left based on Musashi.
