Greetings to all. I've only been involved with the SCA for about a year now, and just discovered that there were people doing Japanese personas yesterday. Though I have just scratched the surface on developing my European persona (9th century Irish) I can't resist the impulse to start researching Medieval Japan.
I'm a big fan of all things Japanese, but my knowledge/exposure at this point has all come from sources like Lone Wolf and Cub or Kurasawa movies. I've just started exploring the link pages from this site.
The biggest obstacle to getting started seems to be the language barrier. If I could make a suggestion, you good folks who have been at this awhile might compile something like a glossary. I know that this could potentailly become a huge project, that's not what I'm asking for. Maybe just a few commonly used words, relating to armor, garb, etc. Or perhaps an FAQ. Something along these might already exist at another site, if so please point me in the right direction.
Thanks.

Try these two links as a start and take off from there: This one has a link to a smallish glossary www.geocities.com/shirokitatate/links.htmlAnd the other is by the same group, but with a bit of different information members.aol.com/arashisan/Some of the information may seem to overlap, but there's links that could keep one busy for weeks. Hope you enjoy! Rizii
