Jay and the folks over at Tintagel are great. I haven't seen their JABL stuff except online, but I know that it is a really fun bunch of folks. If anyone has the ability to get out there and visit, I recommend it, whether or SCA-style combat or JABL.

Got to fourth round in the non-White-Scarf tournament and third round in single sword at Falcon's Treaty this weekend. Really pleased with how the Noh mask came out, debating whether I want to take an inch or two off the hem of the hood.

Congrats on your strong showing in the tournaments!

Are you familiar with the term "uncanny valley"? Congrats on your strong showing in the tournaments! I had to go look it up. I've been informed by a number of my opponents that the mask is "creepy." It does apparently function the same way a real Noh mask does - it looks like I'm looking in different directions depending on how I raise, lower or turn my head.

How did you do? You could possibly pick up a tachi if you think that your current sword is excessively short. A lot of swords were cut down during the Edo period so that they could be more easily worn while strolling about.

I have a lot to learn. That said, things are starting to come together and I feel like I'm improving.
