Without actually handling the piece I can only give a rough estimate. It`s a good condition upper-end ashigaru piece. PROBABLY mid-edo. It depends alot on what you want. Stateside I wouldn`t go higher than $900. Over here less obviously.

I envy you on the maekake do. Maekake dou? Apron? I would have described this as tatehagi haramaki dou.

But it's not a haramaki. It's a haraate (or maekake do). San-mai haraate are rare as hen's teeth -- which is one reason why I envy you so much, as this is just too d**n cool. (I know, that's gonna get censored too...) Tony
