Hi all, If anyone is interested in Japanese Armour Restoration I have opened a new website that reflects the traditional work I do. I don't only work on armour, yari, naginata and saya are also a speciality. There are also some lacing guides that you can use for reference. www.yoroi.uk

I had the pleasure of speaking with Jacqui Carey recently about her upcoming book, "Samurai Re-dressed". It is a follow up to her excellent resource, "Samurai Undressed". She has been able to examine the braids on historical sets of armor in museums in the UK, and analyze the actual structures of these actual historical braids. Many yoroi in Japan, even in museums, have been restored using modern braids, but armor in UK museums has been conserved instead, retaining the original braids. The book will include instructions on recreating these braids using a marudai, or kute-uchi loop braiding. This book is due out "very soon", and will be an e-book directly available from Carey Company. www.careycompany.com/
