Oooohhhh, new silk. I scored five yards of gold dupioni printed with very small, slightly darker gold flowers off of eBay for cheap. It's been washed. It doesn't appear to have shrunken much, if at all.
I have a jar of Versatex white screening ink for printing or stenciling. Hmm, maple leaves? Those double diamond lozengy things?
I stumbled over white paper ribbon in a store. It's a little wrinkly, but should be a better fake for period Japanese hair ribbons than the wilted linen I've been making do with.
I have enough black linen left from Jehanne's surcote to use for an eboshi.
NOW all I have to do is figure out if I have enough to get hakama AND a hitatare out of. Only I can't find my freakin' tape measure!
Ack! Thwarted! Breathe. C'mon. You know it's 48" wide. You wear jeans with a 32" outseam so call it 2 yards for the hakama, not including the ties.
This. Could. WORK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hee hee hee hee hee

Actually, it might be awhile before I actually get around to making it. I've got two classes to prep for the A&S Tourney in two weeks - and I have to find a new apartment and be moved by the end of August.
But it is really nice silk.... M
