Thanks to being infected by the stenciling bug my new kouichgi was a huge smash at our event this past weekend as were the covers i did up for my geta =) Well I was asked to teach a class at a upcoming collegium and thought I might do it on the stenciling. I want to come up with a clever name for the class and im stumped! Suggestions??

(Sigh.) Masako-hime, you might also consider pitching the versatility of the technique to our European brethren - wall hangings with heraldic motifs, for example. www.wodefordhall.com/MonkeyFun.jpg shows part of a tent wall I did for Gaius' pavilion in the background. My ex gave Jehanne (my Norman alter ego) the first Curious George (the little one) on the grounds that a hurdy gurdy player should have a monkey. I said if he was coming to events, he had to make a reasonable attempt at pre-17th century attire. It sorta snowballed from there as various people started presenting me with monkeys! Maliki bears an eerie resemblance to Duke Frederick of Holland (on the right), who, to his credit gave me a turtle and a frog the last two Twelfth Nights, both labeled "not a monkey."
