Ron, thanks for doing this. You beat me to it. I've been thinking about doing something like this, but I was thinking Delphi Forums. I like this interface.

Yar, should be a great haven for us Japanophiles to hide in.

Any advantage to Delphi? The AA is the first board I have spent any time on.
Anything any of you would like to see different. Different organization? Different colors?
If this succeeds, I'll put up the donations to make it ad free.

Not really. Just a different format.
Have you seen the Japanese samurai history forum on Delphi?

The one feature I'd really like to see is one of Legio's -- the one where the sections and topics that have new posts or threads are highlighted when you visit. AA doesn't have that, so it's harder to figure out what to read.

AA doesn't have that, so it's harder to figure out what to read. I'll look into that. There is some ability to customize the boards. As a guest, you do have access to the "View the 10 most recent posts of this forum." link in the "Forum Statistics" on the bottom of the page. Members can see a "new" icon on updated posts when in a specific category (such as "Bugei).

Yes, it does. Everytime I go to the AA site, I get a choice as to the messages I want to see. Try using this page as your bookmarked "go to" page: forums.armourarchive.org/phpBB2/Look at the top right above the forum index. If you're logged in, you have a choice of what to see: View posts since last visit View your posts View unanswered posts It would be sweet if we had that. Tony

I'll be waiting before making any coding changes to the basic ProBoards forum. There appears to be an upgrade in the works which is planned for release on December 14. There are 400000 users a day on these forums. Those who are interested in ProBoards itself might want to check out support.proboards.com
