www.daiso-sangyo.co.jp/english/Daiso is a "100 yen" store, which means most of its wares are about $1.50 US. Daiso has 8 stores currently on the West Coast (Washington and northern California). www.daiso-sangyo.co.jp/english/storeinfo/storeinfo03.htmlGreat for cheap tea and sake sets, kitchen implements, a dizzying array of plastic containers, home hardware and school supplies, some decent baskets and a wide selection of knicknacks ranging from squee-worthy to truly frightful. For under $10 I came home with three tea cups (because buying four would be unlucky), two packages very useful looking S-hooks and some stationery I think my mom will like.

If it would do any good, I would curse the god's for having my family roost on the East Coast. =)

I'd like to say "curse myself for living in Texas of all places.", but I think i'd make more sense to say, "curse someone for not franchising one of their stores in Texas."
Not that I expect it to happen any time soon, but one can dream...

Cali...hrm...do they do flatbreads out there? =) Yeah. Those bastards at Quizno's insist on putting the damn things in my salad. If I wanted bread, I'd order a sandwich. Sourdough, though. You cannot get away from sourdough.
