Most probably, the metal is too thin for SCA combat and cannot be worn.

If the seller knows he's got a list-legal SCA helmet, he/she will usually say so in the ad copy. If it says "great display piece!" it probably belongs on a stand in your living room, not on your head as somebody is about to tee off on your maedate.
Also, look at the weight, if listed. This bad boy only weighs about 7 pounds, which seems awfully light. My ex's old bucket (a much simpler European bascinet) weighed around 12, if I recall correctly.
