Pulled this from the SCA-JML ---------------------------------- Thought this might be of interest to some on this list. Looks like the NHK taiga drama for 2005 is going to be on Yoshitsune. www.jdorama.com/viewtopic.5197.htmEvery year, the NHK network does a historical drama. It's longer than most Japanese dramas, which usually run 10-12 episodes. These run around 49 episodes or so. This year, it's Shinsengumi. Last year, it was Musashi. The year before, Toshiie and Matsu. www.nhk.or.jp/taiga/Yoshitsune will start broadcasting in January of 2005. Usually the American markets that carry NHK shows (in Hawaii and California, I think? Not sure about New York) run a few months behind (because of subtitling). I think some cable/satellite networks (TV Japan?) may have it raw? In which case they should run on schedule.

I've been picking up magazines for this - looks like they spent a bundle on costuming & props. Can't testify to the acting or story, but it should be excellent eye-candy, at least.
I might pay my NHK bill this year, and start watching TV!
