That looks like it'll be so much fun. Makes me wish I lived closer to the coast.

I'm going to try to attend on Saturday - there looks like there might be a break in the weather, and I'm already committed to an event the following weekend.

Poured, poured, poured - until I got back on this side of the bridge. Every indoor shop was a rats nest of tour-ons with umbrellas and lack of clue. The weather was so foul I opted NOT to attend in kosode. ;-< Kinokuniya was full of soggy otaku ripping through the manga section and blocking the aisles. However, I spent some time in the almost deserted history and literature aisle and picked up a collection of poems from the Man'yoshou and the Tales of Ise. I had to wait several minutes for the incense shop to clear out - it's closet sized, and so I went to the kimono shop next door with the insane prices and silently wept inwardly as I admired the $150 shibori scarves. I finally purchased some incense - the lady there is very nice and I plan to go back and give her my business. I stood in the drizzle to enjoy a spirited performance by the San Francisco Taiko Dojo, then I found this lovely lady languishing on a sale table at Genji Antiques for only $24 - she's fairly large - seated, she's still about 10" tall, but some child may have loved her a little too vigorously, judging from the tear in the front of her red silk nabagakama and the wear on the embroidery. She has a spot to herself on my book shelf now. S.
