Konichi wa,
just a short note inviting any and all list mmbers who happen to be somewhere vaguely in the north-eastern corner of the continent.....
My shire is celebrating 20 years with a four-day war camp over the labour Day Weekend.
We're located in Newfoundland, Canada.
While living on an island is a pain in the dou in terms of getting on and off, should anyone be in the vicinity over the course of Aug. 31-Sept. 3 drop me a line.
Other than that I wish all those attending Pennsic well and make the annual plea for PICTURES!!!
YIS Sakurai Takamori (Who has already started his Estrella 2008 or bust fund....and is heartened by the fact his good lady has given her blessing for his attendence Woot! ;D)

When I lived in SanDiego, CAID, I was scuba diving at the Oceanic Preserve. You cannot take out of the water anything so much as a rock. In only 6 feet of water, at the end of the dive, I saw the great grand-daddy of Lobsters, and his enterage of three gigundo consorts. The horns/antlers on these bad boys were each thicker than my thumb and at least 5 feet long. I could not tell how long overall the lobsters were, but suffice it to say that I could touch my thumbs together over the carapice, and I could not have hooked my pinky fingers under the belly. AND I COULD NOT BRING THEM OUT OF THE WATER! Long story now getting interesting - I told my wife-to-be that I was going to put a beeper on them that would go off if they wandered outside of the preserve. This likely would have happened during my own wedding. That would not have been good - and a very tough choice. I took the manly path and opted to leave the lobsters as they were... :-D Go to the wedding...and don't check your beeper that day! ;-) DiverDate

Amen! Gentlemen, treasure the ladies who put up with armor bits all over the kitchen table and smelly shoes and let you come out and play this game.

That's a great story Date-dono! And you are absolutely correct Makiwara-hime! I would be lost without my love....However...I cannot wait for this day to be over! =)
She let me spend an entire gorgeous sunny Sunday yesterday cutting up two sets of armor. There is something to be said for that alone. =)

I should not tease you all so. It has been my happy experience that the gentlemen of the SCA Japanese community are a gallant and chivalrous bunch and the ladies in your lives are lucky to have you.
