For those interested in an historical discussion, I'm going to be co-moderating a discussion on Kenneth Alan Grossberg's book "Japan's Rennaissance: The Politics of the Muromachi Bakufu" over on the Samurai Archives forums ( forums.samurai-archives.com). The discussion will be held in the Kyoshitsu subforum, meaning: 1) You have to have an account on Samurai Archives to participate 2) You need to request entrance to the Kyoshitsu subforum. For that there is a small test required to ensure people have a general level of knowledge necessary to partake in the discussions. Despite the name, Samurai Archives is a general Japanese history forum, covering Japanese history up to the Meiji period. It isn't necessarily a place to ask re-enactment questions, but a good forum for discussions of politics, economics, etc. I find it a good supplement to what I see here on Tousando. I especially encourage people to offer to contribute to their Wiki, which strives to become a repository for general Japanese history questions (and more reliable than Wikipedia). The discussion is planned to kick off on March 29th, if you are interested in joining in. No need to have read the book beforehand--the discussion is a month long and is laid out to allow people to read a section at a time. -Ii
