I'm getting some materials together for some silk banners and I thought I might put up a few sketches for comment. Version 1 Nabori Sashimono Version 2 Nibori Sashimono any preferences?

Have to agree, nr.2 gets my vote to, not really digging the big square of green.

I agree that No. 2 is more visually pleasing, but I'm going to recommend going with No. 1.
My reason: If you ever decide to extend this design to windscreens for your camp, you are going to kick yourself (hard) every time you sit down to sew on another extra strip of fabric.

Meh, I'm a bit masochistic when it comes to that type of work anyway. It guess it comes with having a device that use a paly-bendy field. Paint a few shields like that and you start to get numb to that kind of thing. My leaning was with #2 as well.

Noble Cousin!
Greetings from Solveig! Whether or not to have a ring depends on what you want your kamon to be in general. Rings were far less common among early kamon than they are today. Regardless, if you use a ring as part of your kamon, then it should appear on your banner.
