As I am a falconer I have been tossing around the Idea of creating a falconry in the middle ages class for various events. I want to focus on the 3 main areas that the SCA touches on and that falconry existed in during "period", Europe, The Arabic and The Orient. If anyone has cone across manuscripts regarding chineese or japanese falconers I would appreciate the heads up. I have a book on mongols and the eagles they fly (Eagle Dreams) and I found mention of "The Taka-Gari" a manuscript of unknown origin in the book "Falconry Uncommon" but I am most likely going to need more.
Thanks all in advance!

Noble Cousin!
Greetings from Solveig! Can you deal with Japanese? As I recall, there is a whole section on falconry in both ZGR and GR. Note. Each section contains reproductions of several manuscripts.

Noble Cousin! Greetings from Solveig! ZGR? GR? I can probably deal with japanese, though english translations would be much happier GR = Gunsho ruijū and ZGR = Zoku gunsho ruijū and ZZGR = Zoku zoku gunsho ruijū are three famous collections of manuscripts. There are several other collections out there. I just happen to know that GR covers falconry and that therefore ZGR and ZZGR probably do so as well. GR volume 19 is ISBN: 4-7971-0022-2. The falconry section is about sixty pages long. There should be a falconry section in one of the three parts of volume 19 of ZGR. I only have ZGR 19下 (ISBN: 4-7971-0077-X), but the volume index in the back says that the falconry section is in ZGR 19中 which should be (ISBN: 4-7971-0076-?). As for English, I don't know of anything, but I would check Tuttle books as they are the most likely publisher of something about falconry in English.
