Title: When Art Became Fashion: Kosode in Edo Japan By: Dale Gluckman & sharon Takeda, L.A. County Museum of Art Cost to me: around $45 with shipping, totally worth it Period?: Some, there are gems of info hidden in the book Published: 1992 Size: Soft cover, 352 pages this book is huge and might even be intended for a coffee table. The large size makes details shots of the kimono and kosode that much more ideal for study. This book is not period, in that it focuses on the Edo era. However, in focusing on the Edo era they do step back into history prior to explain trends in edo. There are many little gems of information in this book from the Momoyama and even Heian period. All in all this book is great eye candy. I jokingly call it: kimono porn. If you are into Edo this book is a must have. If you are a hardcore textile type, so too is this book a must have.
