Dr. Keene's translations of Japanese literature and writings on Japan span a decades-long career. This year, in response to the March 11 earthquake and tsunami, he became a Japanese citizen, intending to live there for the remainder of his life.
I just wish this interview had less about the wine and fish and more about what Dr. Keene had to say.
