Hello . My name is Pawe³, I'm from Poland. I'm writing to ask about Japanese plebeian games from Sengoku period. In detail I need names of any games and rules... I were looking everywhere in the net but i haven't found anything interesting. Greetings

I'm writing to ask about Japanese plebeian games from Sengoku period. Baron Effingham's site lists several games, both in the sense of tabletop games and sporting games. Visit www.sengokudaimyo.com/miscellany/miscellany.html and scroll down to Kai-awase, Go, Shogi, Sugoroku, Kemari, Gitcho, and Card Games. I'm not sure if you mean "plebeian games" as in "games that were common" or "games for commoners". If you mean the second, I'd try Sugoroku to start. It's basically backgammon.

Noble Cousin!
Greetings from Solveig! You may be interested in the following book: Korean Games: With Notes on the Corresponding Games of China and Japan ISBN: 9780486265933. Many of the games in the book date from the Sengoku period.
