This is planning pretty far in advance, but Shofuso Japanese House and Garden in Philadelphia (www.shofuso.com/)is having a Moon Viewing Party on Saturday, October 19th.Shofuso is one of the top Japanese sukiya style gardens in North America, has a long (100+ year) history, and regularly runs cultural programs for adults and children. Lady Hara and I have been thinking of visiting this garden for several years, and this event might be just the excuse. I don't know if it would be appropriate to attend in costume or not, but we are seriously considering going to this event, and I thought others here might be interested.
Enjoy rustic Japanese food and sweets, sip sake, enjoy quiet music, and celebrate a successful harvest while watching the moon rise over the pine trees at this traditional, contemplative Japanese gathering.
